All Hands on Deck! Work Days Scheduled...

on February 22, 2012 - 9:21pm

Several work days have been scheduled to ready the club for pre-opening inspection. All work must be completed by mid-April.  We’ll need all hands on deck to address needed repairs and improvements, landscaping, power wash the pool deck and furniture, freshen paint, clean the Crab Shack, etc. Please plan to join us on one or more of these dates (multiple dates are listed to allow back up dates for inclement weather):  March 17, 24, 31 and April 14.  These sessions are generally from 8-noon but any time you can give is greatly appreciated.

Sign Up for Swim Team!

on February 22, 2012 - 8:24pm

We hope you will consider signing up your child(ren) for participation on the swim team. It is an excellent way for your child to better swim techniques, meet and exceed personal benchmarks for increased self esteem and learn the importance of sportsmanship. Swim meets are exciting and fun and enhance the sense of community.  Children must be a minimum of 4 years old and able to swim the required distance unassisted by the first swim meet (June 12). Practices will begin after the pool opens May 19.  There is an additional fee for team dues that is used to fund coaching salaries.

Time to Renew your Membership

on February 22, 2012 - 8:16pm

March and April are the months for renewing your membership. You will soon receive an invoice for your membership dues, a return envelope and a renewal application to update your family’s information. Please remit your dues and form no later than April 30. Members will not be able to use the pool until fees and forms are received.

Invite a new neighbor to join you at our Pool

on February 22, 2012 - 7:56pm

Brookhaven and Glen Forest Neighbors
Have a new neighbor?  Invite them to the pool at no charge for a visit early in the swim season. We’re always looking to grow the membership and prefer to do it with your neighbors, friends and family.

Trash and recycling reminders:

on July 11, 2011 - 11:22pm

Pour out the contents of cups, cans, bottles, etc as the trash bags become extremely heavy and eventually leak. Pizza boxes cannot be recycled.  Due to the number of pizzas delivered, please do not throw them in the trash unless the top has been torn from the bottom, and each of these has been torn in half, if not quarters. Any large trash items should be placed next to the outside trash cans for placing in the trash cans on Monday evening, as space allows. Do not put food items in the outside trash cans that are not in plastic bags.

Independence Day

on July 11, 2011 - 11:20pm

More than just a day off work, Independence Day is celebrated on July 4 as the day when the Continental Congress adopted the final draft of the Declaration of Independence. From July 8, 1776, until the next month, the document was read publicly and people celebrated whenever they heard it. The next year, in Philadelphia, bells rang and ships fired guns, candles and firecrackers were lighted. But the War of Independence dragged on until 1783, and in that year, Independence Day was made an official holiday. 1941 Congress declared 4th of July a federal holiday.

However you celebrate the holiday,

Weekly CSC update

on May 25, 2011 - 6:54pm

It was a terrific opening weekend at the pool! The grills were going, the weather was hot and there was lots of action on the volleyball court. We held a brief membership meeting (as required by the bylaws) to kick off the season. Items discussed have also been included in previous email communications. Don’t hesitate to contact me at this email address if you have any questions.  A roster of board members will be posted so you are welcome to give feedback to any of the other board members as well.

Meet our 2011 swim coaches

on May 18, 2011 - 3:09pm

From Head Coach, Rebecca Brooks…

Hello!  My name is Rebecca Brooks and I am a rising Junior at UNC majoring in business.  My hometown is Rochester Hills, Michigan and I graduated from Rochester Adams High School.  I’ve been swimming since the age of five and am currently a member of the UNC varsity swim team (GO HEELS!). When I have time, I love to bake, play board games, and watch a movie at home – always a sucker for a good romantic comedy! I have coached at a country club in Michigan for the past two summers, but am very excited to be a part of something new.
